"My Mother’s Bible"

presented by Jacob Lee of Deliverus Ensemble

Jacob plays “My Mother’s Bible” on his recorder. Jacob was diagnosed with Down syndrome and autism from birth. Because of this, he stuck out his tongue all the time, couldn't go to the bathroom alone, could not chew, could not move his fingers freely, and could not talk until he was 10 years old. His mom tried in various sorts of ways to find a cure, but the situation worsened the more she tried. In a circumstance where seemingly, the only choice was to give up, like Peter in the Bible who threw the net into an empty sea with faith, she trusted, believed and obeyed the Word of God and disciplined Jacob. Slowly, but steadily, Jacob was cured from autistic behaviors. Now, 6 years later, he can talk, eat and chew freely. He couldn’t move his fingers freely before, but he now praises God with his recorder as an official member of the Deliverus Ensemble and plays difficult combinations on his recorder as he did here. We thank God who graciously blessed Jacob. The word "All things are possible to him who believes" (Mark 9:23b) has come true. Praise the Lord!
